Borgo di Dio, located in Trappeto (Palermo), will host the European workshop “Behind EVS: looking at the future” next week. This workshop will involve young volunteers who are currently taking part in two EVS projects coordinated by CESIE: Youth Mode and Able like you II.
Borgo di Dio rediscovers its international vocation by hosting volunteers from 6 different countries (Austria, Hungary, France, Moldavia, Spain and Ukraine), who are at the end of their mobility period.
This workshop will bring together young volunteers, mentors who have guided them during these months and supervisors of the EVS. These people will be involved in several formal and non-formal activities aimed to evaluate the volunteering experience as well as the learning path shared for 9 months.
During the workshop, participants will discuss about expectations of the youth at their arrival in Palermo as well as about achieved goals, difficulties encountered during this period and the contribution that the EVS has given to their personal, social and professional growth.
In the evocative landscape of Borgo di Dio, participants will reflect about future, trying to find a way for making a good use of the personal, social and professional skills acquired through the EVS programme and to optimize their experience. In particular, intercultural, linguistic and relational skills acquired in an hosting country will be valued and participants will learn to use these skills for their future job.
Several European Projects that could offer career opportunities to youth will be analysed during the workshop. This meeting will give also the opportunity to promote the figure of Danilo Dolci and his maieutic approach.
